SANDY — Sandy Police arrested one of the men they believe impersonated a police officer as part a home invasion.

Shortly after midnight on May 15, two men wearing windbreakers that said "Police" across the chest forced their way into a home on 700 East and 9140 South, according to police.

They kicked open the door, assaulted the resident and put him in zip ties. Police believe the men were looking for something specific in the home, but the pair did not find what they were looking for. They fled the home when the victim was able to leave the home and alert neighbors.

The victim's girlfriend was also in the home, but she was not harmed.

Police believe that one of those men was Kenneth Colton Foote, 21, who arrested at his place of employment on Friday and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, impersonating a police officer and theft, Sgt. John Arnold of the Sandy Police said.

Police are still looking for Andrew Perry Russell, 20, who they believe was the other man involved.

Anyone with information on Russell's whereabouts can call Sandy police at 801-799-3000.
