(KSL News) -- Governor Huntsman is urging Utah businesses to reach out to youth in the state.
Today the governor introduced a new initiative that challenges Utah businesses to hire 1,000 Utah employees under the age of 21 by June 21st.
Gov. Jon Huntsman: "We are challenging all businesses, in every countyin this state, and in every industry."
The governor said the initiative is part of an effort to teach responsibility to young workers and keep a strong Utah economy.
He hopes it will teach valuable skills and act as a mentoring program, particularly for troubled or disadvantaged kids.
