BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The federal government is suing a for-profit college chain in Idaho and Utah because prosecutors say the school illegally recruited students. Prosecutors say the suit names Stevens-Henager College Inc. and its owner, The Center for Excellence in Higher Education. The Department of Justice and Department of Education brought the case after two former employees filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the college.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Three former employees of a Boise call center laid off with some 1,600 other workers have filed a lawsuit contending they were led to believe their jobs would last longer. The Idaho Statesman reports Maximus Inc. last year hired 1,800 workers to help people sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — OSHA has fined a Twin Falls home construction company after a worker was seriously injured. A TKO Custom Homes spokesman tells the Times-News that the company will meet with the agency to review the corrective action the company has taken.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The amount of land in Idaho dedicated to farming is up to 11.7 million acres. The 2012 Census of Agriculture says land in farms increased by more than 260,000 acres from 2007 t0 2012.The Idaho Press-Tribune reports 20 Idaho counties saw increases in farmland and 22 had decreases. Two counties didn't have information.
