PANGUITCH, Garfield County — Two people were hospitalized after a Department of Agriculture helicopter crashed Tuesday afternoon.
A mechanical malfunction caused the helicopter to crash in southeast Garfield County at 1:30 p.m., according to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the malfunction.
The two helicopter occupants were taken to local hospitals. One was taken by medical helicopter with serious injuries that were not life threatening and the other was taken with less severe injuries by a ground crew.
