John Hollenhorst Reporting Tomorrow is a date unique in modern history: Six-Six-Six. Does that number make you just a little bit nervous?
Some people associate it with the devil. But others see it as a chance to party, even get married.
Some people are facing 6-6-6 without worry, even though it may be the Day of the Devil.
Harold Wittke/ Water Wellness Center: "I believe in the right thing. Do the right thing, and you don't have to worry about the devil."
The belief dates to the Book of Revelation, or at least one interprepation of it. The number of the Beast, 6-6-6, the sign of the devil.
It's not clear why that date would cause someone to reschedule elective surgery, or a C-section delivery. Reportedly thart's happened, although no one's noticed it at LDS hospital.
Jess Gomez/ LDS Hospital: "We are always busy and it appears that tomorrow will be as busy as ever before."
Some are trying to cash in. A scare movie called 'Omen 666' opens on a day selected for it's marketing potential. A Salt Lake Night club is "Opening the Gates of Hell" with a 666-Eve party.
April Eastwood/ The Cell Block: "I think the hype is just as bad as it was maybe on the 2000, the Y2K thing. Nothing happened. You know, nothing's really going to happen tonight except maybe people have fun, maybe dress up."
And then there's Jason and Kim Murder, rehearsing the day before, for a wedding on the big day.
Jason Murder/ Groom: "We're not spooked by 6-6-6 at all. In fact, we passed up Halloween last year to do this on 6-6-6."
Yes, they use the last name "Murder." And they turn that around for their business, which is called "The Redrum Shop." It's all about horror and true crime.
And they don't even believe in the devil.
Jason Murder/Groom: "We know a few Christian people that get a little upset and are a little up tight about it. But we even took it a step farther. We invited 66 guests to be there at 6:00 for our reception."
So far we've heard of no man, nor any Omen, putting the wedding asunder.
Historically, of course, June 6th is noted for something that really did happen. The D-Day invasion that led to the end of World War II began June 6, 1944-- 62 years ago tomorrow.
