MOKPO, South Korea (AP) — South Korean officials say another body has been recovered from a ferry that flipped onto its side early Thursday and filled with water. It was carrying 475 people, seven of which are known dead. But the fate of 289 people considered missing is not known. Most of those on board were high school students.

PERTH, Australia (AP) — Authorities in Australia say a robotic submarine has completed its first full 16-hour mission scanning the floor of the Indian Ocean for wreckage of the missing Malaysian airliner. Two previous missions were cut short by water that was too deep and technical problems. The Bluefin 21 covered 35 square miles of sea bed. Information gathered will have to be analyzed. Thursday's search involves 12 planes and 11 ships.

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The number of people missing in the massive Washington state landslide has dropped to six. The Snohomish County sheriff's office says it has removed one name from the missing list. Earlier Wednesday, officials announced that the death toll had risen to 39.

GENEVA (AP) — Representatives of Ukraine's new government and Russia's foreign minister will attend a meeting Thursday in Geneva to discuss growing violence by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine. A U.S. official says the talks will be the final opportunity for Ukraine to engage with Moscow. Failure is expected to prompt additional economic sanctions on Russia for its intervention.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Liberal rocker John Mellencamp wants Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican conservative, to stop using his songs on the campaign trail. When Mellencamp caught wind of Walker playing "Small Town" during the recall campaign, his publicist sent Walker an email letting him know that Mellencamp supports collective bargaining and union rights.
