ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Logan Morrison and right-handed starter Blake Beavan on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, and recalled second baseman Nick Franklin and James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma.

Beavan left Tuesday's game after four innings with what was diagnosed as shoulder tendinitis. Making his first Mariners start this season after being recalled from Tacoma, Beavan allowed two runs in a 5-0 loss.

Morrison, who hasn't played since leaving Monday's game, has a strained right hamstring. Manager Lloyd McClendon said he was concerned that Morrison could aggravate the injury during this weekend's series at Miami. "That's a big outfield there."

Franklin made his major league debut with Seattle last season. He was in Wednesday's lineup as the designated hitter. In 11 games at Tacoma, he was batting .395 with four home runs and 13 RBIs.

The 25-year-old Jones is a left-handed-hitting outfielder and pinch hitter to replace Morrison. He was batting .310 with no home runs and four RBIs. Jones was en route from Tacoma, and listed on the lineup card as a reserve.
