MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Western Illinois has hired Billy Wright as its basketball coach.

The school said he will be introduced at a campus news conference Tuesday.

Wright joins a team that went 10-20 this season. He succeeds Jim Molinari, who resigned last week. Wright was an assistant under Molinari before working as an assistant at Ball State last season.

Molinari took Western Illinois to its only two postseason appearances as a Division I team. The Leathernecks went to the CBI tournament in 2012 and 2013.
