BEIRUT (AP) — The Syrian government and rebel forces say poison gas has been used in a central village, injuring scores of people, while blaming each other for the attack. The main Western-backed opposition group, the Syrian National Coalition, says dozens of people were hurt in a poison gas attack Friday in the village of Kfar Zeita. State-run Syrian television today blamed members of the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front for using chlorine gas at Kfar Zeita, killing two people and injuring more than 100.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Finance officials from the world's major economies are resuming talks in Washington, D.C., today after publicly embracing a goal of boosting global growth by $2 trillion in the next five years. The finance ministers and central bankers from the Group of 20 wealthy and developing nations so have avoided substantial differences in areas such as interest rate policies and tougher penalties against Russia.

He's using his weekly media message to reinforcing equal pay as a top election-year issue for Democrats eager to mobilize women to vote. For the Republicans, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington says the economy under Obama is hurting women.
BOSTON (AP) — In New Hampshire, some of the country's leading conservatives are gearing up for a summit today that should see plenty of criticism of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Several potential Republican White House contenders will be there, including Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Citizens United and Americans for Prosperity are the hosts.
PATNA, India (AP) — Indian Maoist rebels killed 14 people in two separate attacks in the central state of Chhattisgarh on Saturday as they continue a campaign of violence aimed at disrupting a five-week national election. Authorities say five election officials and two bus drivers were killed when a land mine exploded under their vehicle in Bijapur district, where voting is due to take place next week. After the explosion, the rebels opened fire on the bus. Five people were also injured in the attack and were being treated in nearby medical facilities.
