CINCINNATI (AP) — Xavier forward Justin Martin has decided to transfer for his final season, leaving the Musketeers without the top two scorers from last season's NCAA tournament team.

The redshirt junior will complete his undergraduate degree. Xavier announced Friday that he has permission to look for another school. As a graduate student, he won't have to sit out a season.

Martin averaged 11.7 points and 5.2 rebounds last season, when Xavier went 21-13 and lost to N.C. State in an opening NCAA tournament game in Dayton. The Musketeers also have lost leading scorer Semaj Christon, who averaged 17 points as a sophomore and decided to go to the NBA.

Center Matt Stainbrook is the top returning scorer at 10.6 points per game.
