GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — Hundreds of Jefferson County teachers walked out of a contract negotiating session on Monday to show their dissatisfaction with school board decisions affecting their wages and the negotiating process.

Jefferson County Education Association spokeswoman Stephie Rossi says school board negotiators have not been respectful or willing to collaborate.

The contract with the district expires next year. They say they don't see eye to eye with the school board on things like pay raises for teachers, charter school funding and classroom needs.

A spokesman for the school board did not return phone calls on Tuesday seeking comment.
