NEW YORK (AP) — Top-seeded Fort Wayne has selected No. 8 seed Reno as its first-round opponent in the NBA Development League playoffs.

The NBA D-League allows the three division winners to choose their opponents from the four teams that finished with the worst records.

The East champion Mad Ants (34-16) chose the Bighorns, who finished 27-23. The Los Angeles D-Fenders (31-19), the No. 2 seed and the West Division champion, picked the sixth-seeded Santa Cruz Warriors (29-21), while the Central Division champion Iowa Energy (31-19), the No. 3 seed, selected the fifth-seeded Rio Grande Valley Vipers (30-20).

The other series will pit the fourth-seeded Sioux Falls Skyforce (31-19) against the seventh-seeded Canton Charge (28-22).

The pairings were selected Sunday after a teleconference among the eight teams.

The playoffs start Tuesday. The lower-seeded team hosts the opening game of the best-of-three series.
