Some people look at them like the gods must be crazy. Sofas, right on 2100 South! Matt and Mary sat down.
"It's really not got any of the comfort features of your standard couch," Matt said. He was a bit disappointed after sitting on it. "It looked a lot more plush from a distance," he said.
But Mary said, "I actually thought it was going to be horrible, and I don't think it's really that bad."
"I just kept saying, 'Are you sure they're comfortable?'" said Salt Lake City Arts Council Executive Director Nancy Boskoff. She says the artist insisted he made them even more comfortable.
Six of them cost the city $40,000. Officially, they're considered artwork and a tribute to the area's furniture-store heritage.
