POWELL, Wyo. (AP) — A former Northwest College employee who was investigated for possible misuse of college funds is now a member of the Wyoming Community College Commission.
Gov. Matt Mead appointed Katherine Dooley, of Powell, to the commission, and the Wyoming Senate confirmed Dooley on March 4. The commission's duties include advocating for all the state's community colleges.
The Powell Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1hFvO2Y ) that Dooley resigned from Northwest College a year ago.
At the time, public records say Dooley was on paid administrative leave while college officials investigated her handling of money.
Mead spokesman Renny MacKay said the governor was not aware of the situation between Dooley and the college prior to appointing her.
Dooley says that she wasn't asked about it and that she left Northwest College on good terms.
