ConnectYard has been working closely with Pearson since May 2013 to
deliver its private and secure social engagement platform to Pearson
LearningStudio customers, enabling them to reach students with
course-level and campus-wide notifications via Facebook, Twitter,
LinkedIn, personal email accounts, institutional email accounts and
text messaging.
ConnectYard's social messaging service enables instructors to
instantly notify students about important announcements, discussions,
reminders and grade updates via their preferred communications
channels. ConnectYard's two-way communication capabilities allow
students and Faculty to engage with each other and with classmates
from any device or network without having to sign into Pearson
LearningStudio, yet the dialogue is still captured and tracked.
Through ConnectYard's robust analytics and reporting that tracks,
among other things, who views messages, when and for how long, less
engaged students who may be in need of private reminders or personal
follow-ups can be identified and helped.
"ConnectYard is a perfect complement to Pearson LearningStudio and
lets us better assess student engagement in our classes and serves as
an early warning system", said Deborah Riemer, Vice President,
Assessment & Academic Quality at Ashford University.
"Today's students and instructors expect to be able to access
everything from any device and platform. Partnering with ConnectYard
enables us to deliver an engaging and more convenient online learning
experience that directly helps with student engagement and retention",
said Erica Tuohy, Director of Technology Partnerships at Pearson.
"We are excited and honored to be partnering with Pearson and our
joint customers to help students stay engaged and ultimately help with
the larger goal of improving learning outcomes", said Don Doane, CEO
of ConnectYard.
Celebrating its 15th year, Pearson Cite brings together more than 500
Higher Education online learning program executives, faculty and
administrators. The event takes place April 1st through April 3rd in
Fort Worth, TX.
