ALLENDALE, Mich. (AP) — Friends and relatives of a Western Michigan University student who died at a campus dorm are remembering her happy and positive approach to life.
The Grand Rapids Press reports (http://bit.ly/Nz9FuX ) a gathering for 19-year-old Alyssa Olafson was held Thursday night at Life Stream Church in Allendale, about 15 miles west of Grand Rapids.
Britny Jennett, who played soccer with Olafson, says she was always "silly, happy" and "positive." Olafson's survivors include her parents and two siblings.
Olafson was found dead early Thursday at Eicher Hall at the Kalamazoo school, where she was a freshman studying pre-health and human services. The Allendale woman's death was reported about 2 a.m. The school has said she may have had a pre-existing medical condition.
