WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is on his way to Europe to send a clear signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin about his intervention in Ukraine. Biden will meet Tuesday with Poland's president and prime minister and the presidents of Estonia, Lithuanian and Latvia. Latvia and Estonia share borders with Russia, and Poland and Lithuania are nearby.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — China is now checking its territory for signs of a Malaysia Airlines jetliner that disappeared March 8 while flying from Malaysia to Beijing. A massive search operation in the Indian Ocean and beyond has yet to find any trace of the plane. Meanwhile, China says it's looked into the backgrounds of the 154 Chinese nationals on the plane, and it's discovered no links to terrorism. There were 239 people on board.
CHICAGO (AP) — Voters in Illinois are going to the polls Tuesday to choose a Republican who will try to win back the governor's office. Businessman Bruce Rauner is leading in the polls and fundraising heading into the primary election, and he has said he would model his governorship after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who championed anti-union legislation. Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn faces a lesser-known challenger, activist Tio Hardiman. Quinn is expected to win his party's primary.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The attorney for singer Chris Brown says his client was having a bad day at rehab and shouldn't be forced to stay in jail for another month. Brown appeared at a hearing Monday in Los Angeles after getting kicked out of a Malibu rehab facility last week. The facility says Brown got too close to female patients, and when asked during an exercise to reflect on what he did well, he said, "I am good at using guns and knives."
NEW YORK (AP) — Fans upset about a main character's death in the just-concluded episode of MTV's "Teen Wolf" have a place to go to vent. The network is launching a special website for fans to memorialize the character Allison Argent, who died by a sword wielded by a mythical Japanese demon. On the site, cast members offer "eulogies," and actress Crystal Reed explains that her character was killed off because she wanted to move on and do something else.
