ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 11, 2014--Under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, inaugurated the events of the first International Road Traffic Accident Conference addressing “Causes, Challenges, and Solutions.” The conference was organized by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, in collaboration with Lifeline Healthcare Group. The conference is being held on 10-11 March at the Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
At the conference, 40 work papers submitted by traffic safety specialists from the USA, UK, Greece, Canada, Belgium, KSA, Egypt, China, and the UAE will be evaluated.
The papers will tackle the main causes of traffic accidents, and proposed solutions. Participants will review the best international practices and innovations with respect to the use of modern transportation methods, in addition to reviewing the new techniques used to reduce the severity of injuries and the six pillars of improving traffic safety (6Es+I); which are “Engineering, Emergency, Enforcement, Education, Evaluation, and Engagement”, in addition to discussing the ways to improve integration.
Modern international practices that reduce the severity of injuries and the medical tools and protocols of treating traffic accident injuries will be reviewed.
The inaugural event was attended by Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police along with a number of Abu Dhabi Police departments’ directors and representatives from the different participating delegations and partners.
