GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a West Virginia man who collapsed at the entrance to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.

Rangers say Brian Brewer was visiting the park with his family Sunday afternoon and complained of not feeling well.

He was en route back to his hotel when park rangers say Brewer was found to be not breathing at the entrance station.

A ranger administered CPR and used a defibrillator, but authorities say efforts to save Brewer were unsuccessful.

Brewer's hometown in West Virginia wasn't immediately available Monday.

Rangers say the cause of Brewer's death is unclear and an investigation is being conducted by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner.
