NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting overnight in a North Las Vegas neighborhood.
The incident happened about 1 a.m. Monday near Woodard Street and Tonopah Avenue.
Officer Chrissie Coon says dispatchers were told the officer planned to stop a pedestrian, and then were told a few minutes later that there was a shooting and medical help was needed.
Coon says police are investigating the events that led up to the shooting.
The names of the officer and the person who was shot have not yet been released.
