ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Judy the Beauty won the $100,000 Las Flores Stakes by 4¾ lengths at Santa Anita on Sunday.
Ridden by John Velazquez, Judy the Beauty ran six furlongs in 1:08.22 after shipping in from her base at Florida's Gulfstream Park. She had been idle since finishing second in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint on Nov. 2.
Judy the Beauty paid $3, $2.20 and $2.10 as the 1-2 favorite in a field of five older fillies and mares.
Heir Kitty returned $3 and $2.20, and Munnings Sister was another nose back in third and paid $2.40 to show.
The victory, worth $60,000, increased Judy the Beauty's career earnings to $825,757, with six wins in 14 starts.
