LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Utah State guard Jennifer Schlott has been named the 2014 Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

The 5-foot-6 senior from Mesa, Ariz., is the first Aggie women's basketball player to earn player of the year honors.

Conferences officials announced the award on Sunday.

Schlott had one of the best seasons in Mountain West history, setting the conference record in points scored (489) and scoring average — 27.2 points per game. She is the only player in league history to score more than 400 points in 18 league games. She scored at least 30 points in 10 league games this season.
