T25 BASKETBALL-SCHEDULE
Top two teams in the AP poll lead the way with wins
UNDATED (AP) — It was another winning afternoon for top-ranked Florida and No. 2 Wichita State. The Gators have become the first team in Southeastern Conference history to go 18-0 in league play. And the Shockers are the first Missouri Valley Conference team to win its first 33 games since Larry Bird and Indiana State in 1979.
Patric Young scored 18 points in his final home game as the Gators beat No. 25 Kentucky 84-65. Fellow seniors Casey Prather and Scottie Wilbekin also reached double figures for the 29-2 Gators, who have won 23 straight and 32 in a row at home.
The loss leaves the 22-9 Wildcats with an SEC mark of 12-6.
Meanwhile, Wichita State continued its perfect run by reaching the Missouri Valley Conference final with a 67-42 silencing of Missouri State. Cleanthony Early knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for Wichita.
Should the Shockers win the conference title game on Sunday, they would match the NCAA-record start by UNLV in 1990-91. Ironically, Indiana State stands between Wichita State at a record-tying win.
Elsewhere in top-25 action:
— Oregon has a seven-game winning streak after Jason Calliste delivered 18 points in the Ducks' 64-57 win over third-ranked Arizona in Eugene. Johnathan Loyd added 16 points to help the Ducks pick up a signature win that bolsters their shot at an NCAA tournament berth.
— Freshman Jabari Parker had a season-high 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead fourth-ranked Duke past No. 14 North Carolina 93-81. Rodney Hood added 24 points to help the Blue Devils end the Tar Heels' 12-game winning streak.
— Sixth-ranked Villanova got 19 points from Darrun Hilliard in a 77-59 victory over Georgetown, giving the Wildcats a 28-3 record and a six-game winning streak. Villanova's 16 Big East wins are the most in school history.
— No. 8 Kansas was upset at West Virginia 92-86 as Eron Harris scored 28 points and Juwan Staten added 24 for the Mountaineers. WVU led by as many as 25 and withstood a 41-point performance by Jayhawks freshman Andrew Wiggins.
— Xavier Thames had 23 points and five steals as 10th-ranked San Diego State rallied for a 51-48 win against No. 21 New Mexico. The Aztecs trailed by six before holding the Lobos to 22 second-half points.
— Eleventh-ranked Louisville and No. 15 Cincinnati share the American Athletic Conference regular-season title following the Cardinals' 81-48 romp over Connecticut and the Bearcats' 70-66 triumph against Rutgers. Montrezl Harrell had 20 points, 11 rebounds and several thunder dunks to help the Cardinals improve to 26-5 and finish 15-3 in league play. The Bearcats were led by Sean Kilpatrick's 24 points.
— Glenn Robinson scored 20 points, including a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 1:10 to play as 12th-rated Michigan got past Indiana 84-80. Jordan Morgan had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Nik Stauskas added 21 points for the Wolverines.
— Doug McDermott scored a career-high 45 points in his final college home game to lead 13th-ranked Creighton to an easy 88-73 win over Providence. McDermott also became the eighth player in Division I history to go over 3,000 points for a career.
— It took overtime but 16th-ranked Iowa State held on to beat Oklahoma State 85-81. Naz Long forced overtime with a 30-footer at the buzzer and Georges Niang (johrj nee-ANG') had 22 points as Iowa State ended a two-game skid and improved to 23-7.
— Joe Jackson scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half to lead No. 20 Memphis to a 67-58 victory over No. 18 SMU. Jackson hit his first four shots after intermission as the Tigers, who shot 59 percent in the second half while building the lead to as many as 14.
— Buddy Hield scored 24 points and 23rd-ranked Oklahoma clinched the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament with a 97-67 victory at TCU. Isaiah Cousins and Cameron Clark each had 18 points against the Horned Frogs, who are the league's first team in 10 years to post a winless conference record.
— Jon Ekey hit a 3-pointer in the final second to lift Illinois to a 66-63 victory over No. 24 Iowa. Rayvonte Rice scored 15 points for the Illini, who've notched consecutive road wins against ranked opponents for the first time since 2005.

Spurs catch Thunder...Sixers fall again
UNDATED (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs have won their sixth in a row to pull into a tie with Oklahoma City atop the NBA's Western Conference.
Tony Parker scored 30 points and Manu Ginobili (MAN'-oo jih-NOH'-blee) added 24 as the Spurs overcame a lethargic performance to beat Orlando 121-112. Kawhi (kah-WY') Leonard added 17 points, Tiago (tee-AH'-goh) Splitter scored 14 to help the Spurs improve to 46-16.
Also in the NBA on Saturday:
— Mike Conley had 20 points and Memphis outscored Charlotte 59-45 in the second half of a 111-89 win over the Bobcats. Zach Randolph added 16 points to the Grizzlies' fourth victory in five games.
— Bradley Beal scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter of Washington's 114-107 triumph at Milwaukee. The Wizards blew most of a 28-point lead before winning for the eighth time in nine games.
— Carmelo Anthony missed his first six shots before finishing with a team-high 26 points in New York's 107-97 over Cleveland. Amare Stoudemire added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, whose three-game winning streak follows a seven-game slide and amid reports Phil Jackson may accept a job in New York's front office.
— Philadelphia's losing streak has grown to 16 games with a 104-92 setback against Utah. Gordon Hayward finished with 22 points, Alec Burks added 19 and Derrick Favors contributed 15 and 14 rebounds as the Jazz halted a five-game skid.

Milwaukee's Mayo suspended
NEW YORK (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks guard O.J. Mayo sat out Saturday's game against Washington.
Mayo received a one-game suspension for punching a member of the New Orleans Pelicans in the first quarter of Milwaukee's 112-104 loss to the Pelicans on Friday.

New deal for Carpenter
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Matt Carpenter has a new contract to play for the St. Louis Cardinals as the two sides have agreed to a $52 million, six-year deal. The deal includes a team option for a seventh year in 2020 at $18.5 million. Should St. Louis decline the option, the Cards would have to pay Carpenter a $2 million buyout.
Carpenter hit .318 last season while leading the National League in hits, doubles and runs.

A new deal for San Diego's Stuckey
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Darrell Stuckey and the San Diego Chargers have agreed to a new contract that keeps the safety and special teams standout from hitting the free-agent market. Stuckey, who was the special team's captain last season, tweeted that it was a four-year deal.
NFL-JAGUARS
Bryant agrees to four-year pact
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars and free agent defensive tackle Red Bryant have reached agreement on a four-year contract. Bryant, who turns 30 next month, spent six years in Seattle, making 121 tackles. He missed one game over the past three seasons, recording 87 tackles, 2½ sacks and two interceptions in that time.

Blues pad division lead, creep closer to top seed
UNDATED (AP) — The St. Louis Blues picked up their fourth straight win to climb within one point of the NHL's Western Conference-leading Anaheim Ducks.
Ryan Miller stopped 26 shots and Patrik Berglund provided the eventual game-winner in the third period as the Blues downed Colorado 2-1. David Backes (BAK'-ehs) broke open a scoreless game in the second period, and Miller kept the Blues ahead after P.A. Parenteau (PAR'-ehn-toh) scored with 11:03 remaining.
The Blues now lead the Central Division by four points over Chicago, with the Avs five points back.

— Reilly Smith scored the lone shootout goal after Tuukka (TOO'-kah) Rask stopped Tampa Bay's seven attempts in Boston's 4-3 win over the Lightning. Johnny Boychuk and Carl Soderberg each had a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who trailed 3-2 until Boychuk scored in the third period.
— Joffrey Lupul (JAHF'-ree LOO'-pul) scored at 2:21 of overtime to lift Toronto past Philadelphia 4-3. Jonathan Bernier stopped 28 shots for the Maple Leafs, who blew leads of 2-0 and 3-2 before earning their second straight win since a three-game skid.
— Washington ended a three-game skid by turning a 2-0, third-period deficit into a 3-2 win over Phoenix. Karl Alzner and Brooks Laich (lyk) scored 32 seconds apart to tie the game midway through the final period before Troy Brouwer (BROW'-ur) notched a power-play goal with 5:13 remaining.
— Ales Hemsky (AL'-ehsh) and Jason Spezza (SPET'-suh) each set up three goals while the two played on Ottawa's top line in a 5-3 triumph at Winnipeg. Mlan Michalek (mih-HAH'-lek) added a goal and two assists to help the Senators win for just the second time in six games.
— Sergei Bobrovsky (boh-BRAHF'-skee) turned back 28 shots and Artem Anisimov (ah-NEE'-see-mahv) scored the lone goal with 6:25 remaining to push Columbus to its fourth victory in five games, 1-0 at Nashville. The Predators lost their fourth in a row despite Pekka Rinne's (REE'-nayz) 35 saves.
— New Jersey beat Carolina 5-4 on Tuomo Ruuttu's (TWOH'-moh ROO'-toohz) goal with 6 ½ minutes left. Adam Henrique (hehn-REEK') scored twice and Travis Zajac (ZAY'-jak) had a goal and two assists for the Devils.
— Erik Cole's breakaway goal with 4:49 to play pushed Dallas past Minnesota 4-3. Tyler Seguin (SAY'-gihn) had a goal and two assists for the Stars.

Caps ink Russian forward
WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Capitals general manager George McPhee has signed Russian forward Evgeny Kuznetsov (kooz-NEHT'-sahv) and expects him to make his NHL debut Monday against Pittsburgh.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound winger was selected in the first round of the 2010 NHL draft and has spent the last four years playing in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League. Kuznetsov led the team in scoring each season from 2010-13 and made the 2012 KHL All-Star team.
GOLF-CADILLAC CHAMPIONSHIP
Reed leads and Woods is in the hunt
DORAL, Fla. (AP) — Patrick Reed has the lead after three rounds of the Cadillac Championship in Doral, Fla. He shot a 3-under-69 to finish play 4-under for the tournament after 54 holes. Jason Dufner and Hunter Mahan (MAY'-han) are tied for second at 2-under-par.
Tiger Woods had a great third round with a 6-under-66 to move to within three shots of the lead.
PGA-PUERTO RICO CLASSIC
Hadley has the lead
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico (AP) — Third-round play is complete in the PGA's Puerto Rico Open, and the leader is Chesson Hadley. He'll start Sunday's final round at 16-under-par, one shot in front of Danny Lee.
