Alcorn State holds on, tops Prairie View 64-62

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) — LeAntwan Luckett converted two free throws with two seconds left to lift Alcorn State to a 64-62 win over Prairie View A&M in the regular season finale Saturday.

John Brisco hit two free throws with 29 seconds left to give Prairie View a six-point lead, but Stephan Raquil scored to cut the lead to four points and Luckett drilled a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left to pull Alcorn State with one.

The Panthers (8-22, 6-12 SWAC) struggled through their worse season since 2007-08, when they also finished 8-22.

Alcorn State (12-18, 9-9) had an 18-point lead in the first half behind Twan Oakley, who scored eight of the Braves first 17 points.

Prairie View opened the second half with an 18-4 run to get back into the game.

Luckett and Josh Nicholas each scored 13 points to lead Alcorn State.

Montrael Scott had 17 points to lead Prairie View.
