HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — New Orleans tied the Division I record for futility in a single season Saturday with an 87-56 loss to Sam Houston State.

The Privateers fell to 0-29, tying the mark set by Fordham in 2008 and matched by Weber State last season.

It was the 33rd consecutive loss for New Orleans, which would need to lose another 25 in a row to tie the all-time losing streak, set by LIU Brooklyn between 1987 and 1989.

New Orleans fell behind 13-0 Saturday, trailed by as many as 30 points in the first half and 43 points in the second.

Jasmine Johnson had 18 points and Angela Beadle had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Sam Houston State.

Octavia Wilson had 13 points to lead New Orleans.
