GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The top and bottom teams in the AP's Top-25 basketball poll are in action this afternoon. No. 1 Florida, which is 28-2 on the season, is playing host to No. 25 Kentucky. The visiting Wildcats are 22-8.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — There's a great end-of-regular-season ACC battle being contested this evening in Durham, N.C., as fourth-ranked Duke entertains No. 14 North Carolina. This is one of the best rivalries in college basketball and Duke is coming off an upset loss to Wake Forest.

UNDATED (AP) — There are two games being played this afternoon in the NHL. St. Louis, which leads Chicago by two points in the Central Division, is playing at Colorado, which is three points back of the Blues and in Winnipeg the Jets are hosting Ottawa.

UNDATED (AP) — The Kansas City Royals got some bad news yesterday as they found out that right-hander Luke Hochevar (HOH'-chay-vur) will have Tommy John surgery, thus ending his season before it starts. Hochevar felt a twinge in his elbow during a two-inning scoreless outing Monday, and an MRI revealed the extent of the injury.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Joey Logano will start Sunday's Sprint Cup race from the pole after securing the top spot in qualifying yesterday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He turned in a qualifying lap at a track-record 193.28 mph. Brad Keselowski, who held the pole in last week's race, will start from the second position.
