Rydzek wins 3rd WCup Nordic combined race

OSLO, Norway (AP) — Johannes Rydzek won his third Nordic combined World Cup event on Saturday while his German teammate Eric Frenzel remained top of the overall standings.

Rydzek won the 10-kilometer cross-country ski race in 24 minutes, 50.6 seconds — 0.8 seconds ahead of local favorite Magnus Moan and France's Francois Braud who was 4.5 seconds behind.

Norway's Olympic gold medalist Joergen Graabak came in 5th and Frenzel was 14th

Braud had won the first round with a 125.5-meter jump.

Frenzel has 743 points overall but trails right behind leader Frenzel on 981. Akito Watabe of Japan is third with 630 points.
