KNOXVILLE, Iowa (AP) — A Knoxville high school teacher has been accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.
The Knoxville Police Department says Troy N. Rider turned himself in Friday to authorities. He is charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of sexual exploitation by a school teacher. Court records do not list an attorney.
Police received a report Tuesday about alleged sexual abuse involving a student at Knoxville High School. Police say they have received and recovered evidence that corroborates accusations against Rider, who is a physical education teacher at the school.
The case remains under investigation. Police say additional charges are possible.
