Center for Sustainable Health Outreach to Hold 12th Annual Unity

Conference

BALTIMORE, March 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Center for

Sustainable Health Outreach (CSHO)-in partnership with Delmarva

Foundation for Medical Care, Inc.; Central Massachusetts AHEC, Inc.;

and Community Resources, LLC-will hold its 12th Annual Unity

Conference on May 20-22, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in

Baltimore, Maryland. Unity 2014 is a national conference designed for

and about community health workers. The theme for the conference is

"Community Health Workers: Innovative Solution to Addressing the

Triple Aim (Access to Care, Reducing Costs, and Promoting Healthy

Communities)."

Unity 2014 will address the role community health workers (CHWs) play

in creating access to care, reducing costs, and promoting healthy and

happy communities. The conference will stress the importance of CHWs

to the delivery of health services and health reform; promoting social

justice; shaping policy and practice; and demonstrating a return on

investment along with sharing methods of overcoming barriers to CHW

program success.

"Baltimore is strategically located at the heart of one of the most

densely populated areas in the United States," said Sue Myers,

Delmarva Foundation VP for Business Development. "With its wonderful

restaurants, shopping, zoo, aquarium, and the renowned Inner Harbor,

this is an exciting place for a conference."

Unity 2014 will feature plenary sessions with addresses from keynote

speakers and panelists, as well as numerous breakout, poster,

skill-building, and roundtable workshop sessions. CHWs are strongly

encouraged to attend. This conference is an opportunity for CHWs to

share knowledge, information, and expertise with peers, colleagues,

and policy makers.

A registration fee of $300 includes training, materials, and lunch

each day and discounted registrations are available for CHWs and

Unity 2014. The conference staff encourages CHW programs, related

service providers, and educational programs to exhibit and
