TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher says he doesn't want his players to think of themselves as the defending national champions. He wants to see the same hunger that pushed the Seminoles to the title in the first place.
Florida State wrapped up its four-week winter conditioning program Thursday and Fisher raved about the atmosphere and how players have taken ownership of the culture.
Spring practice begins March 18 with the spring game scheduled for April 12. The team is adjusting to a new defensive coordinator for the second consecutive year, but Fisher says the transition is different because Charles Kelly was promoted from linebackers coach. The defense also is replacing three of its top leaders in Larmarcus Joyner, Telvin Smith and Timmy Jernigan.
