STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Stanford has added associate head coach to offensive coordinator Mike Bloomgren's title.

The school made the announcement Thursday. Former defensive coordinator Derek Mason, who left to become Vanderbilt's head coach in January, previously held the associate head coach title as head coach David Shaw's top assistant.

Bloomgren is entering his fourth season on the Stanford staff and second as offensive coordinator. He has coached the offensive line every season since coming to Stanford in 2011 following four years with the New York Jets, where he served as assistant offensive coordinator (2010), offensive assistant (2009) and offensive quality control coach (2007-08).

Bloomgren will continue to serve as Stanford's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
