GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Natasha Howard had 30 points and 16 rebounds to help Florida State beat Miami 72-67 in overtime in Thursday's second round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.
Cheetah Delgado added a career-high 20 points for the ninth-seeded Seminoles (20-10), including a key 3-pointer with 31.1 seconds left in OT as FSU protected a one-point lead.
Morgan Jones added two clinching free throws with 3.3 seconds left, advancing FSU to Friday's quarterfinals to face top-seeded and second-ranked Notre Dame (29-0).
Necole Sterling scored 14 points and was one of five in double figures for the eighth-seeded Hurricanes (16-14), who led 33-26 at halftime and 55-49 with 5½ minutes left before Florida State rallied.
Howard gave FSU its first second-half lead with a putback with 49.8 seconds left, then hit two free throws to push the lead to 58-55. But Sterling answered with a 3-pointer with 30.2 seconds left to force OT.
