Woods defending champ
DORAL, Fla. (AP) — The first round of the Cadillac Championship is underway at Doral in Florida. Tiger Woods is the defending champ. Woods says the back injury that forced him off the course during the final round of Sunday's Honda Classic is feeling better. However, he decided to be extra cautious during yesterday's practice round, walking 18 holes to just chip and putt and study a course that is entirely different from the one where he has won four times.

Coach K feeling better after dizzy spell
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Coach Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEF'-skee) is out of the hospital after feeling light-headed after a loss at Wake Forest. The school said in a statement today that Krzyzewski was taken to Duke University Hospital in Durham for a precautionary examination after the 82-72 loss in Winston-Salem. The school says his symptoms and condition have improved considerably and he was sent home early today.
The 67-year-old Hall of Fame coach could be seen taking a knee during a timeout in the second half of the game last night. He did not attend the postgame news conference.
Associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski (woh-jih-KOW'-skee) said after the game that Krzyzewski had not been sick and has been in good physical shape.

UNDATED (AP) — There are three games on the way in top-25 men's college basketball. Number-six Villanova looks to improve its 26-3 mark with a game at Xavier. The other two contests feature match-ups of rated clubs: Number-15 Cincinnati meets number-20 Memphis, while number-22 Michigan State faces 24th-ranked Iowa.

Slim schedule tonight
UNDATED (AP) — One of three NBA games tonight is a match-up of division leaders. Miami, on top in the Southeast by 12 and a-half games over Washington, faces San Antonio. The Spurs, riding a four-game winning streak, have a two-and-a-half-game lead over Houston in the Southwest Division. Another division leader Oklahoma City is on the road at Phoenix. Game three is a battle of Los Angeles with the Clippers at the Lakers. While the Clippers top the Pacific Division, the struggling Lakers bring up the rear in last place. The Clippers are looking for their sixth straight win.

Busy night on the ice
UNDATED (AP) — One of ten NHL games has Washington at Boston. The Bruins top the Atlantic Division while the Capitals are in the middle of the pack in the Metropolitan Division. Another contest has St. Louis at Nashville. The Blues top the Central Division while the Predators sit in last place. Pittsburgh, on top in the Eastern Conference standings, plays at San Jose. The Sharks sit in fourth place in the Western Conference.
The rest of the games have Los Angeles at Winnipeg, Tampa Bay hosting Buffalo, Colorado skating at Detroit, Columbus on the road at Chicago, Vancouver at Dallas, Phoenix hosting Montreal and the New York Islanders at Edmonton.

Hamels update
CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cole Hamels says he won't throw off the mound for at least another week because of fatigue following his latest throwing session.
Hamels, the Phillies' opening day starter in 2013, entered camp behind schedule because of biceps tendinitis that began in November. Hamels indicated he was healthy after arriving at camp last month.
But after throwing off the mound Saturday for the third time this spring, Hamels no longer feels so good. He says he threw 35 pitches, but to his body "it felt like a thousand."
The 30-year-old Hamels went 8-14 with a 3.60 ERA in 33 starts last season.
