ST. LOUIS (AP) — This year's brutal winter is causing problems with the blood supply in the St. Louis region.
KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/1oriKSk ) reports the American Red Cross regional office in St. Louis had had to cancel several blood drives due to foul weather. This winter has seen an inordinate amount of snow, sleet, freezing rain and bitter cold.
St. Louis Red Cross CEO Cindy Erickson is encouraging blood donors to come out in force and make up for the canceled blood drives. She suggests visiting the Red Cross website to search for the nearest donation location or blood drive.
