LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have cut punter Adam Podlesh, parting ways with the veteran after three seasons.

Podlesh joined the Bears in 2011 and had 238 punts for 10,065 yards (a 42.3 gross average) during his time in Chicago. He landed 82 punts inside the 20 with just 12 touchbacks, one blocked punt and a net average of 39.4.

In seven seasons with Jacksonville and Chicago, he had 467 punts for 19,816 yards (a 42.4 average) while landing 157 inside the 20 with 31 touchbacks.

The Bears announced the move on Wednesday. On Twitter, Podlesh thanked the organization and fans for "the opportunity to represent a first class franchise and city."
