MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Ray Cross is set to address the Board of Regents for the first time as the new University of Wisconsin System president.

The regents chose Cross to replace Kevin Reilly in January. Cross, who has served as chancellor of UW-Extension and UW Colleges since 2011, beat out Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Vice Chancellor Peter Garland for the position.

Cross is scheduled to speak at the regents' meeting Thursday morning on the UW-Madison campus.
