Georgia State beats Arkansas State 79-76 in OT

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Manny Atkins, who finished with a career-high 30 points and 11 rebounds, made two free throws with 12 seconds left to force overtime, where Georgia State came away with a 79-76 victory Tuesday night.

Arkansas State's Melvin Johnson III hit a 3-point jumper with 3 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 69 and send it into overtime.

Curtis Washington made a free throw, Atkins hit a jump shot and Ryan Harrow made a layup to give Georgia State (23-7, 16-1 Sun Belt) a 74-69 lead to start the overtime period.

ASU (17-11, 9-7) held a 64-59 lead with 2:29 left in regulation following a Johnson 3-point jumper. Ryan Harrow made a layup with 37 seconds left to give Georgia State a 67-66 lead.

Johnson led the Red Wolves with 19 points and Kirk Van Slyke added 18.
