KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Wichita State was just about as dominant in the Missouri Valley's postseason awards as the unbeaten Shockers were in running roughshod through the league schedule. Fred VanVleet beat out teammates Cleanthony Early and Ron Baker for the conference player of the year award, and all three earned first-team Missouri Valley all-conference honors.

CHICAGO (AP) — Two of the three top teams in the NHL's Central Division are facing off tonight in Chicago. The Blackhawks start the night tied for first with St. Louis with 86 points, while visiting Colorado has 83. The Blues this evening are home for a game with Tampa Bay.

UNDATED (AP) — Oklahoma City and San Antonio sit on top of the NBA's Western Conference. The Thunder are No. 1 with a record of 45-15 while the Spurs are 43-16. Tonight, the Thunder are home to Philadelphia while the Spurs are visiting Cleveland.

BOSTON (AP) — Boston Celtics forward Gerald Wallace is sidelined for the rest of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgeries on his left knee and left ankle. Wallace played in 58 games in his first season with the Celtics before today's operations, averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds a game.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Kurt Busch and Andretti (an-DREHT'-ee) Autosport have announced that Busch will try attempt to become the first driver in 10 years to drive in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Busch will try to qualify for the Indy 500 in a fifth car for Andretti. Should he make the May 25 race, Busch will then fly to Charlotte Motor Speedway to fulfill his full-time job with Stewart-Haas Racing in NASCAR's longest event of the year.
