GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Lamont Middleton and Waylan Siverand each scored 17 points, and Bruce Beckford added 12 with 10 rebounds as North Carolina A&T outlasted South Carolina State 62-60 Monday night.

SC State led 33-22 at halftime, but the Aggies (9-21, 5-10 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) opened the second half on a 13-0 run to grab the lead on a Siverand layup. A quick 10-2 surge capped by free throws from Middleton put NC A&T up 56-47.

The Bulldogs (9-19, 5-10) crawled back to tie it at 58 after a Jordan Smith three-point play with 2:20 remaining. Middleton answered with a jumper and Siverand split a pair of free throws to go up by three.

Darryl Palmer's dunk made it 61-60 with 15 seconds left. Following split free throws from Michael Briscoe, Jalen White couldn't hit a layup as time expired.

Smith finished with 15 points and White had 14 for SC State.
