ONEONTA, Ala. (AP) — An ex-high school teacher has pleaded guilty to sending explicit text messages to a 15-year-old student.
AL.com (http://bit.ly/1fD645y ) reports 32-year-old Crystal Gilliland Clowdus pleaded guilty Monday afternoon to transmitting obscene material to a minor.
Clowdus was given a 10-year suspended sentence. She'll serve six months in a county correctional facility followed by six months of house arrest. Clowdus has been ordered spend five years on probation after that.
Investigators have said a teenage boy told them Clowdus sent him nude and partially nude photos, and asked if he'd like to have sex with her.
Clowdus taught at Susan Moore High School. A harassment and sexual abuse trial against a second teacher at the school is scheduled to begin March 17.
