KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) - Two days after winning her first career medal at the Sochi Games, Tiril Eckhoff helped Ole Einar Bjoerndalen and the rest of the Norwegian biathlon team to an historic gold medal in the first Olympic mixed relay on Wednesday.

But not after the team's youngster had changed her pre-race eating routine.

On Monday, Eckhoff used an unconventional way of shaking off feelings of being unwell before the women's 12.5-kilometer mass start. "I ate a burger and decided just to have a good day," Eckhoff said after that race.

And it did become a good day. Eckhoff faulted only once on the shooting range and finished third to take the bronze.

So, how many burgers were on the 23-year-old's menu before the mixed relay?

"No, I was eating healthy today," said Eckhoff, who this time even didn't miss any of her targets. "My shooting was good. So I guess it worked."
