SOCHI, Russia (AP) - The Finnish men's hockey team decided to take advantage of Sochi's beautiful weather by riding bicycles to its Olympic opener on Thursday.
The bike ride from the Olympic village to the Bolshoy Ice Dome only takes about seven minutes, and the Finns decided they couldn't pass up the chance to enjoy the Russian sunshine while getting a quick cardiovascular workout before facing Austria.
Team Finland provided blue bikes to its athletes in the village, and the millionaire hockey players have been using them avidly, four-time Olympian Olli Jokinen says.
