MILAN (AP) - Clarence Seedorf has signed a 2 1/2-year contract to coach AC Milan ahead of his first training session in charge of the Serie A club.

Seedorf, who had been playing with Botofogo in Brazil, landed in Milan on Wednesday night and signed the deal Thursday.

The 37-year-old scored 62 goals in 432 matches with Milan and left after the 2011-12 season. He helped the Rossoneri in the 2003 and 2007 Champions League titles and Serie A championships in 2004 and 2011.

Massimiliano Allegri was fired Monday, a day after a 4-3 loss at Sassuolo. Milan is 11th at 5-7-7, 20 points out of a Champions League berth and six points above the relegation zone.
