SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- People who wanted to start the summer with a nice weekend in the mountains had better bundle up.

The National Weather Service has issued a snow advisory. Unusually cool weather is making a spring storm more like a winter storm.

Several inches of snow are expected in the higher areas of the northern Wasatch Mountains. The snow will remain heavy at times today before tapering off tonight. Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s.

The storm does give die-hard skiers one last chance at some fresh snow. Snowbird Ski Resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon is open through tomorrow.
