SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified the woman hit by TRAX earlier this week.

Salt Lake City police said Wednesday that Wanda Song, 39, was the individual killed by a TRAX train Monday.

Officials were waiting to contact family who lived out of state, who they finally reached Wednesday, according to Salt Lake City Police detective Veronica Montoya.

The northbound train struck Song as it was pulling out of the Ballpark Station at 1300 South around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said Song had been intoxicated and had been briefly taken into custody earlier that afternoon for public intoxication.

No further information surrounding the collision was available.
