SALT LAKE CITY — For the last two years it has been known as Edwin Watts Golf-Uinta after being purchased by the national golf retailer chain. But Edwin Watts's Golf went into chapter 11 bankruptcy in November, with 49 of the Edwin Watts Golf Stores being purchased out of bankruptcy by World Wide Golf on December the 7.
Worldwide Golf's corporate offices are based out of Santa Ana, California. They are a family owned business that has been serving golfers for over 50 years.
"We are happy to announce that all five of the Uinta Golf Stores were purchased by Worldwide Golf and will operate under the Uinta Golf Brand," said Joe Judd, longtime manager of Uinta Golf.
"We have been working for years to build the Uinta Golf brand here in the great state of Utah. In fact, Uinta Golf has operated in this market since 1971. Worldwide Golf sees the value of operating under the Uinta Brand." Judd said.
"We appreciate the loyalty we have received over the years from those that have patronized our stores. We are going to work harder than ever to do the best we can to take care of every golfers needs."
Worldwide Golf operates under the following names, Roger Dunn Golf Shops, Vans Golf Shops, The Golf Mart, and Golfer's Warehouse. As of December 7, 2013, they added an additional 44 Edwin Watts Golf Shops to their name.
