DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Tony Stewart smoked the field in a fan vote and will grace the cover of the "NASCAR `14" video game.
Stewart's fan base seemed to rally around the injured driver, who missed the final months of the season after breaking his right leg in an Aug. 5 sprint car crash.
Stewart, the three-time Sprint Cup champion, took 69 percent of the vote in the final round to defeat Jeff Gordon. During the five-week contest conducted on Facebook, Stewart dominated each round of the competition. He won nearly one-fifth of the more than 700,000 votes.
He has appeared on the cover twice before, but this is the first time he was selected by fans.
"NASCAR `14" is scheduled for release in early 2014 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
