OGDEN — A teenage boy was in critical condition Saturday night after being shot in the chest.

Ogden police responded to a call at about 5:37 p.m. Saturday to the corner of 26th and Madison on a reported gunshot wound.

When officers arrived they found a 15-year-old boy with "at least one gunshot wound to the chest and an injury to his left forearm," according to a press release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently stable condition.

The victim's name has not been released, but police said his family has been notified.

Police have identified some people of interest in the crime, but no arrests have been made. Croyle said the victim has been reluctant to cooperate with the investigation, but investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.

"Due to the victim's unwillingness to assist right now we just have limited information to follow up on," she said.

The case is under investigation by the Ogden Metro Gang Unit and detectives from the investigations division.
