SALT LAKE CITY — The Christmas tree may be the most celebrated of the holiday's decorations, warranting a spot in the front window and lauded in song.
If you are hoping to cut your own tree to sing "O Tannenbaum" or "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" about, trees are available throughout the state.
The US Forest Service has started selling Christmas tree permits in locations throughout Utah. Find a complete list online.
Pinyon pine, Utah juniper and white fir trees can be harvested from anywhere on BLM land with a permit from the agency. Find a field office near you to purchase.
Additionally, private farms sell cut-your-own trees. Call before you go, as some of these independently owned businesses have limited hours.
