Nicole Gonzales reportingA man is in critical condition this morning after a fight with people he considered friends. It all started at a house near 8900 West and 2800 South in Magna.

Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputies say a 52-year-old man invited two friends to his home. The group was drinking, and at one point the victim asked the other two to leave. When they refused, he pulled out a handgun. The two men took the gun, assaulted the victim, and ran off. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Deputy Shane Manwaring of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said, "They are trying to follow up on some leads of possible names. At this point it does appear we have two known suspects, but we're having a hard time coming up with names. They have street names and no names we can actually follow up on."

Deputies say shots were fired, but it is not known whether the gun was fired inside or outside the home, or how many shots were fired.

Deputies also did not have a detailed description of the suspects. The victim has not given much information to deputies, and they're not sure if that's because of his injuries or if he's being uncooperative.
